Introducing – Glass Mountain

Named after an etching by David Hockney, Glass Mountain are a quartet from the famous artist’s home city of Bradford – and are seemingly as determined to create according to the complicated relationship the place has with itself. With a sound that nods to British Sea Power and Wild Nothing amongst a host of others they’re about to raise their profile after 18 months building a reputation for thoughtful but exhilarating songs which they describe as “Deeply personal, with moments of heartfelt honesty”.

Made up of Harry Hanson (Vocals and guitar), Lewis Johnson-Kellett (Guitar), William Sand (Bass and keyboards) along with Jonathan Newell (Drums) since coming together they’ve supported local heroes Embrace and space-rock royalty Hawkwind, whilst releasing the acclaimed Glacial EP in 2016, followed by Cowboy Song and Gin Flows Through My Veins last year.

Their next EP Wow and Flutter is out on February 2nd via the Leeds-based label Hide & Seek records – review to follow – and comes in several formats, the most intriguing being the deluxe box set,  complete with both hand written lyrics and a recipe for gin & tonic. The band are on tour next month, visiting York, Liverpool, Manchester, London, Nottingham and Sheffield before finishing up on the 18th with a gig at the Brudenell Social Club.
